水火无情，人所皆知。目前随着城市的扩展与增加，随着社会财富的逐年积累，随着地球人口的急剧膨胀，火灾给人们生命与财产的安全带来的恶果和威胁也越来越显得严重。就在编发这篇稿件之时，又传来了莫斯科大学火灾烧死Ｎ人和长春夏威夷大酒店地下洗浴中心失火造成２０人死亡的特大火灾消息。而且莫斯科大学火灾中有多人（其中中国留学生５名）是犯了火灾逃生的大忌，逃到电梯里而丧生的。要是我们每个人都能掌握些防灭火的基本知识，都能懂得些火灾逃生自救的正确方法，那么就能使我们的生命与财产安全多几分保障了。为此，在这个新世纪、新千年之初，我刊特地约请了国内消防界的几位专家，开辟了‘消防知识专题讲座”，向读者普及有关的消防知识。预计连载６期；内容涉及：我国火灾趋势，建筑火灾与建筑防火；电气火灾与电气防火，石油化工火灾与防火，火场逃生；未来消防展望。在连载期间读者们有什么问题或建议，请及时反馈给我们，谢谢。
Relentless, well-known. With the expansion and increase of cities, with the accumulation of social wealth year after year, the consequences and threats posed by fire to the safety of people’s life and property become more and more serious with the rapid expansion of the Earth’s population. At the time of compiling this manuscript, another big fire disaster was reported in which 20 people were killed after the fire broke out at the Moscow University N and the underground bathing center at the Hawaii Grand Hotel Changchun. Moreover, there were many people in the fire at Moscow University (among them, five were Chinese students) who committed a fire escape and escaped into the elevator. If every one of us can master the basic knowledge of fire prevention and firefighting and understand the correct method of fire escape and self-help, then how much more will our life and property be safeguarded? To this end, in this new century and the beginning of the new millennium, I specially invited several experts from the domestic fire protection community to open a ’Lecture on Fire Protection Knowledge’ to popularize relevant knowledge on fire protection to the readers. : China’s fire trends, building fire and building fire; electrical fire and electrical fire, petrochemical fire and fire, fire escape; future fire prospects.
