鹿厂铜矿是一含铜砂砾岩矿床,位于“康滇地轴”东侧,会理红色盆地西缘.含矿岩系为小坝组下段底部砂砾岩,自下而上第五层为砾岩、六层为砂岩、七层为砾岩、八层为泥质砂岩.具体赋矿层位简称为五上、六下、六上、七下、七中、七上六个矿化层.小坝组属白垩系上统,不整合或假整合于下侏罗统之上.矿床主要是沉积作用形成的.现有勘探工作查明,铜是主要成矿元素,伴生元素银、硒均有工业意义,为一中型铜矿床.
