OBJECTIVE: To understand the effects of unilateral umbilical arteries on fetuses and newborns through prenatal development of single umbilical artery fetuses and follow-up within six months after giving birth. Methods: From March 2009 to March 2011, 57 cases of unilateral umbilical artery fetuses in Tianjin Central Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital were enrolled. The results of prenatal ultrasound, chromosome examination of fetus or newborn, routine clinical examination and postpartum umbilical cord pathological findings The results of the follow-up of newborns within six months after delivery. Results: Totally, 57 cases of single umbilical artery were enrolled in this study. Among them, 26 cases were found to have abnormal fetal development in other systems, 5 cases were diagnosed as chromosomal abnormalities by umbilical cord blood collection, and 3 cases of simple unilateral umbilical artery fetus with small deformity were found after delivery. Conclusion: When there is a single umbilical artery in the prenatal ultrasound examination, the fetus and its appendages should be observed in different directions and angles. Combined with chromosomal abnormalities, fetal abnormalities can be detected early and the rate of birth defects can be reduced. At the same time, Indicators provide the basis.
