2000年4月9日,在上海浦东陆家嘴金融贸易区诞生了全国首家金融行业博物馆——上海市银行博物馆。这家由中国工商银行主办的博物馆以翔实的资料, 众多的银行器具、票据实物以及生动、鲜明的表现手段,再现上海百年银行沧桑,真实记录上海自开埠以来这段有着落后与屈辱、奋进与光荣的银行历史。上海市银行博物馆位于浦东大道9 号,展厅面积1500平方米,共有藏品 20000余件,展出2000余件,内容包括历史馆、钱币馆等两个主题展馆和一个临展馆。
