In the sunshine afternoon studio, all of a sudden see Lu Yang’s series of paintings “leaving farmers” quite shocking. The power of these 10 paintings does not lie in oversize or fantasy themes or exciting colors. These may be the eye-catching ways many contemporary oil painting works, but they are not Luyang’s methods. The power of his works stems from a solid image, a carefree gesture and a genuine concern for people and society. The combination of these three aspects makes these 10 portraits of Lu Yang extremely solid and has the power of life.
