本雅明从神学的立场出发,将语言的本质归结为一种语言自身思想存在的传达,其承载着上帝的启示和真理,并创造性地提出了神学的“总体语言”观。在这种“总体语言”观中,上帝的语言、人的语言和物的语言三者之间协同交流,表征着原初世界和谐统一的圆满状态。语言的堕落是现代性灾难的起源,从此人类开始跌入经验萎缩、罪恶横生、意义死灭的世俗世界深渊,真理裂化为碎片散落或隐匿在历史的废墟之中。本雅明呼吁辩证唯物主义者打破资本主义社会的物化表象,冲破资产阶级工具主义语言观的牢笼,从历史的废墟中将真理拯救出来,重建原初伊甸园般和谐统一的本原状态,实现人类的最终解放与彻底救赎。
From the theological standpoint, Benjamin attributed the essence of language to the communication of the existence of his own language, carrying the revelation and truth of God and creatively proposing the theological “general language” concept. In this “general language” perspective, the coordination of the three languages, God’s language, human language and material language, symbolizes the perfect state of harmony and unity in the original world. The degeneration of language is the origin of modern disasters. From then on, human beings began to fall into the abyss of worldly world where experiences were shrinking, sinful and meaningless, and the truth was split into pieces or hidden in the ruins of history. Benjamin called on dialectical materialists to break the materialized appearance of capitalist society and break the prison of linguistic concepts of bourgeois instrumentalism, to rescue the truth from the ruins of history and to rebuild the original state of harmony and unity in the original Eden so as to finally achieve humanity Liberation and total redemption.
