自由即一个人不受制于另一个人或另一些人因专断意志而产生的强制的状态。是人的本性使然,是一种当然的“自然权利”。人类活动的基本目的之一,便是为了满足自由需要,实现自由欲望,达成自由目的。但如果对自由不加限制,那么它将会带来严重后果,任何人都会成为滥用自由的潜在受害者。自由因遵循原则而得以维持,因追求目的便利而遭到摧毁。 Freedom means that one person is not subject to coercion by another person or others due to arbitrary intention.
