大陈岛是浙江省东南沿海的门户,著名的渔场。1954年国民党兵败退时,把渔岛洗劫一空。解放后,海岛建设和渔业生产欣欣向荣,成了渔业重镇。近几年来,渔业机械迅速发展,渔船实现了机帆化。现有机动船107只,其它动力机9台,手扶拖拉机10台。但是,因为没有渔机配件供应点,渔船机器坏了,要过海到大陆上购买零件。而且,两天一次的交通船遇上大风还走不动,不但多花了差旅费,还耽误了渔汛,每年岛上渔民为此要损失上万元。渔场每年有八个多月的捕鱼时间,除本岛渔船外,每年还有上万只次的外地
Dachen Island is the gateway to the southeast coast of Zhejiang Province, the famous fishery. When the KMT troops retreated in 1954, the island was sacked. After the liberation, island construction and fishery production thrived and became a fishing town.
