本文以国家大力发展体育产业为契机,采用文献资料法、实地考察法等方法,对湘西地区辰溪县的五个瑶族乡进行了比较细致的考察,研究表明:湘西辰溪五瑶乡民风淳朴,瑶味十足,民族体育文化丰富,属于湘西最大瑶族聚居地,适合开展民俗体育旅游;当前困境主要表现为:政府缺乏开发意识、缺乏科学的规划和指导、宣传力度不够和品牌效应欠佳、创意开发和创新力度不够;开发路径:一是政府转变观念、大力发展体育文化旅游,二是创意式的规划设计,以点、带、圈为基本发展模式,三是加大体育宣传力度,积极与体育影视演艺公司合作。
