Recently, millimeter waves have been vigorously developed as a kind of “new” field of electromagnetic spectrum. Radar is a major aspect of millimeter wave applications. The 1979 World Radiocommunication Conference (WARC-79) new operation - with the approval of the U.S. Senate - opens the door for radars operating above 40 GHz. As radar works at low frequencies, it is expected that both ECMs and ECCMs will have a huge impact on millimeter-wave radar's military applications. This article evaluates the past, present and future of millimeter-wave radar applications and points out its merits, limitations and existing problems. It discusses the issues to be considered by the ECM / ECCM and points out that ECM / ESM experts should deal with millimeter-wave Radar will encounter all kinds of problems. At the same time, these same factors have greatly contributed to the radar ECCM experts.
