株洲市文物局于2009年6月组建考古调查队,对醴陵沩山进行考古调查,发现了宋元、明清以及近现代不同时期的窑址60余处,改写了醴陵沩山烧窑始自清代的历史。发现的大量窑址及与烧窑相关的遗迹对于研究醴陵乃至湖南湘东地区瓷窑烧造历史提供了新资料。
