七十年代前期,从传统的“岩浆成因”观点出发,霍山饶钹寨岩体被认为是岩浆原地侵入、就地分异的产物。其实,N.L.鲍文早在1928年就对阿尔卑斯型超镁铁质岩的传统岩浆成因说提出了异议。特别是近几十年来,随着实验研究和野外地质工作的进展,深部地质资料的获得,以及板块理论的兴起,“固态冷侵入”的观点已得到更多资料的支持。用这种观点,能更合理地解释许多地质现象和地质问题。但当时我们并不十分确切了解上述这些进展,当然也就更谈不上用这一观点于实践,从而导致找矿勘探走
