In our previous review of Archives, History, and Reclamation, we have already mentioned that not long after the founding of new China, from 1952 to the early 1960s, China had introduced more than 60 cartoons from the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe (Including art and puppet films), a considerable number. On the “Soviet Film Week” held in China in 1957, the “Nirvos Traveling with Goose” show made the people first time have a clearer understanding of the animated feature films. During the 10 years of the Cultural Revolution, the overall deterioration of the relations between China and the Soviet Union, coupled with the ideological mastery of domestic politics, has brought an unprecedented catastrophe to the cultural field. As a result, the pace of introducing animated films from the socialist countries such as the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe stopped.
