在社会转型、思想激扬、文化狂飙突进的年代,文艺批评往往独领风骚,成为时代之子。最近二十年来文艺批评已风光不再,和大众越来越远,退离公共空间,变成一门知识社会学,文艺批评所能激发的公共性的思想和情感的能力在减弱,激发大众的共同激情和兴趣的力量在弱化,提供给大众探索真理的路径和精神能量日渐匮乏,对于历史主体的创造性想象和未来信念也在丧失。文艺批评衰退的根本问题是其不能把握当前文艺发展的基本问题和基本任务。新人文学科的兴起,为新的文艺批评提供思想和武器资源;新媒体和中国新的现实结合,为中国文艺的发展提供了空前的契机,也为新的文艺批评提供了宝贵土壤。
