Cone penetration testing is a simple, accurate, fast and economical method for ground soil exploration testing. It uses a mechanical or hydraulic device to push the probe with a probe into the soil and penetrate the probe into the soil on the ground surface. Continuous measurement of resistance is carried out to ascertain the degree of unevenness of the foundation soil, and certain physical and mechanical indices of the soil are directly determined through various theoretical or empirical formulas for use in engineering construction. Therefore, static cone penetration is a more advanced in-situ quantitative testing method in the current engineering geological survey work. It avoids the previous “drilling-sampling-testing” process and caused by soil disturbance.
