This article reports the use of 250 Norplant subcutaneous implants and 50 Norplant-2 to control fertility. Contraceptive effects at 12 months: pregnancy rates were 0.4% and 0, respectively, with sustained rates of 94.8% and 96%, respectively. Symptom removal rates were 4.8% and 4% respectively.
