晋中的柿子主要产区孝义,全县有9万余株柿树,近年来由于柿长绵蚧的为害,果实产量急剧下降。如白壁关公社下吐京大队常年平均产量约50余万斤,从1960年发生虫害后,到1963年降为14万斤,1964年仅产10万斤。又如临水大队常年平均产量约65万斤,1963年降为16万斤,1964年仅产8万斤。目前柿长绵蚧在孝义县为害严重的地区是白壁关、兑镇和下堡3个公社的7个大队,被害柿树总数约3万余株。为了消灭柿长绵蚧,我们自1964年开始在下吐京和善吉村二地驻点,对该虫进行了生活习性观察和防治
