液压机在锻造时,如能使活动横梁在上顶点停止不动,则便于利用此时间进行锻件的操纵;如能加大下压行程,则有利于锻件受压时间的加长。但是,在锻造水压机上,活动横梁的升降,过去均靠手动操纵阀控制。因此,横梁的上下运动及其停止,均用手动操纵,因而就需相当熟练的操作经验;而且,由于延长了液压机的运动周期,使单位时间内行程次数的提高受到了限制。
