藿香别名排香草、合香、土藿香、杷篙、合香等,为唇形科藿香属多年生草本。株高0.3~1m,全草具香气,可作多年生栽培,也可作一年生栽培。花期6~8月,果期7~9月。种子寿命2~4年,因此隔年的种子可以播种。藿香在我国栽培历史悠久,南北各地均可种植,主产于四川、江苏、浙江等省,其他地区也有野生或栽培。朝鲜、日本、俄罗斯等国家也有分布。
