北宋王朝对于道教的推崇使得道教的发展进入了欣欣向荣的新的时期。尤其在宋神宗统治时期,既继承了宋代前期统治者的各项宗教政策,同时又实施了许多新的宗教政策,使得道教在神宗朝的发展起到了承上启下的作用,对于推动道教的发展有着相当重要的作用,也为以后宋徽宗时期道教达到顶峰奠定了基础。但是这些政策又在一定程度上产生了影响深远的消极影响。
The admiration of Taoism by the Northern Song Dynasty made the development of Taoism into a thriving new period.
