苏联航空界关于第四代战斗机的项目论证起始于1969—1970年。当时苏联的三大战斗机设计局——米格、苏霍伊和雅克夫列夫设计局都参加了项目论证。1971年,苏联国防部正式将第四代战斗机研制计划立项为“未来战术战斗机”项目。
The Soviet aviation community’s demonstration project on the fourth generation fighter aircraft began in 1969-1970. At that time the Soviet Union’s three fighter design bureau - MiG, Sukhoi and Yakovlev Design Bureau have participated in the project demonstration. In 1971, the Soviet Department of Defense officially approved the development plan for the fourth generation of fighter aircraft as the “future tactical fighter” project.
