在淮安周恩来纪念馆内,有一座风雅别致的建筑——西花厅。因为是仿北京中南海周恩来生前工作和生活的居所西花厅而建造的(中央当时批准的名字叫“周恩来遗物陈列馆”),其内部又陈列着周恩来、邓颖超当年开展国务活动和生活的场景,所以十几年来,这里一直游人如织,人们都以一睹“西花厅”的“尊容”为快。笔者不仅是这座建筑的始作俑者,而且参加了筹建的全过程。回忆筹建西花厅的岁月,总让人心潮激荡,久久难以平静。
