Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is a remote sensing technique that can measure the deformation of the earth’s surface. Its deformation measurement accuracy can reach sub-cm in a huge area, but its spatial resolution is within a few tens of meters. This article summarizes the latest results of our study of the Alaskan Volcano using InSAR technology, including volcanic eruptions and non-eruptions. These findings show that InSAR not only enhances our understanding of Alaska volcanic activity, but also enhances our ability to predict future volcanic eruptions and their disasters.
