Jieyang City People’s Hospital was founded in 1890 and was called “Truth Medicine Hall”. It was known as the Truth Hospital before the founding of the People’s Republic of China. It enjoys a good reputation in the eastern part of Guangdong. After the founding of the People’s Republic, the People’s Government took over and changed its name to Jieyang County People’s Hospital. In 1992, Jieyang County People’s Hospital was upgraded to Jieyang City People’s Hospital with the withdrawal of Jieyang County and the establishment of the city.
