教师是人类文明的传播者、建设者和人类灵魂的工程师,不论哪个时代和地区,对教师都是极为敬重的。葡萄牙是最早确定教师节的国家。1890年5月18日,葡萄牙亚科莫布大学毕业生纷纷向教师敬献彩带,教师在彩带上给学生签名留念,后来葡萄牙政府便把这一天定为教师节,每年举行庆祝活动。葡国这一首创,被许多国家效仿。美国1971年经国会参、众两院通过,由尼克松总统签署法令,宣布9月28日为教师节。这天,全国要开展一系列尊师活动,促进社会尊师重教的新时尚。
Teachers are the communicators, builders, and human soul engineers of human civilization. Regardless of the times and regions, teachers are extremely respectful. Portugal was the first country to determine Teacher’s Day. On May 18, 1890, graduates of the University of Alcoa, Mocco, Portugal, presented ribbons to teachers. The teachers signed the ribbons on the ribbons. The Portuguese government then designated this day as a teacher’s day and held celebrations each year. This initiative of the Portuguese nation was followed by many countries. The United States passed the Senate and the House of Representatives in 1971. President Nixon signed the decree and declared September 28 as Teacher’s Day. On this day, the entire country must carry out a series of activities to respect teachers and promote the new fashion of social respect for teachers and education.
