50 years time can not be considered short. Prof. Nakayama is over 80 years old this year. On March 29, 2001, in Beijing, in the academic exchange of the Chinese Modern Literature Museum, she took part in the study of Lao She with members of Japan’s Lao She Reading Association and Mr. Shu Yi. She could not believe it. After the war, the Chinese reading society that she had organized for her livelihood would come into being now and live longer. That year, just because I was a graduate of the Department of Chinese at Peking University, out of nostalgia for the old Beijing that year, out of a keen interest in the “Beijing flavor,” she thought, I would teach the Japanese to learn Chinese. That is 1951. Reading will be located in Ochanomizu University. Zhongshan chose Lao She’s novels to do textbooks, teaching students to use the original method of reading novel Chinese. She heard that a Chinese woman who had just arrived in Japan, Shui Chang-sheng, could speak a word of Beijing dialect and went to visit him. She said to Shui Shi, “I hope you do not learn Japanese.” Sure enough, she never learned Japanese, and she kept her authentic Beijing dialect like that, living alone in Japan. but,
