近年来,贵州省的新生界研究取得了显著的进展。在早第三纪地层中,发现了以Lophiomeyx sp.和Brontotheriidae为代表的动物群,填补了早第三纪古生物研究的空白;晚新生代地层研究,在传统的生物地层学、岩石地层学研究的基础上,开展了磁性地层学、同位素地层学,孢粉地层学与气候地层学等方面的工作,使地层研究逐渐走向定量和综合,并首次编制了贵州新生代地层年表。
In recent years, the research of Cenozoic in Guizhou Province has made remarkable progress. In the early Tertiary strata, the fauna represented by Lophiomeyx sp. And Brontotheriidae was found, which filled the gaps in the study of paleontology in the early Tertiary. The late-Cenozoic stratigraphic studies were conducted in the traditional biostratigraphy and lithostratigraphy , The work on magnetic stratigraphy, isotopic stratigraphy, sporopollen stratigraphy and climatic stratigraphy has been carried out so that the stratigraphic research gradually becomes quantitative and comprehensive. The Cenozoic stratigraphic chronology of Guizhou has been compiled for the first time.
