Toshiba America will launch a new color and monochrome cathode ray tube and monitor during the year. With dimensions of 15-21 inches (diagonal), cathode ray tubes and monitors feature a square-shaped screen that improves clarity at the corners of the screen, reducing distortion and indirect lighting reflections. Toshiba reported that the nickel-iron alloy shadow mask they used increased the light output by 150% and did not produce discoloration due to the shadow mask camber.
