既要减轻学生的学习压力和负担,又要提高学生的学习成绩,是当前素质教育探讨解决的重要问题。就地理科而言,既要减轻学生的学习压力和负担,又要提高学生的地理学习成绩,提高地理课堂教学质量无疑是最捷径的解决办法。如何才能提高地理课堂教学质量呢?地理教师只有做到以下六个方面:精心设计每一节课;引导学生学会学习;课堂上做到教师精讲,学生多看、多想、多练;课堂教学要讲究技巧;地理课堂教学要面向全体学生,因材施教;在地理课堂教学中要做到“五忌”。
