民族音乐文化遗产目前在国内,年轻人逐渐远离、演出市场不断萎缩、从业者纷纷转行从事他业,面临着传承困难的困境,某些品种甚至有着失传、湮灭的危险。如果传承而不创新,则会使民族音乐难以适应现代社会开放、快节奏、重自我、竞争激烈的形势,进而难以赢得民众,尤其是难以赢得年轻人的喜爱,从而失去市场;而如用西方音乐进行彻底改造,又会使民族音乐丧失自我,没有了特性,实际是主动被西方音乐同化,从而导致民族音乐的彻底衰亡。显然,传承而不创新和用西方音乐进行彻底改造的道路,两条路皆走不通,只有创造性转化才是真正有效的途径。
