Inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) is by far the most effective anti-asthma drug. The authors used double energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) to study the effect of 6-month treatment with beclomethasone dipropionate (BDP) on the organic content of lumbar vertebrae, and to explore the potential risk of compromising bone mineral density in asthmatic children. Thirty-five outpatients with asthma were diagnosed by the patient and the method, aged 5 to 14 years, of whom 30 completed the full course of treatment. According to the severity of asthma divided into two groups: ① group (BDP group) 14 cases, mean age 9.1 years, were moderate asthma. By inhalation of metered-dose inhaler BDP 300 ~ 400μg / d (2 or 3 inhalations) for at least 6 months. ② group (control group) 16 cases, flat
