周人的至上神是“天” ,它来源于西北游牧民族。其论据除已有的语言学、文化人类学的材料外 ,还有如下三条 :一、周原所出文王时卜辞中有祭“天”的记载。二、“灵台”是周人祭天礼地的建筑 ,在今甘肃省灵台县城内。周人接受“天”神信仰约在季历时代。三、在灵台上祭天礼地的主要是胡巫 ,这喻示了“胡巫”可能是沟通周人与西北游牧民族“天”神信仰的“使者”。
