集报是一项很有意义的活动,既可以大量积累报纸史料,又可以丰富生活,陶冶情操。目前我国出版的各类报纸有一千六百多种,随着报业发展的兴旺,近年来我国集报爱好者已遍及二十七个省、市、自治区,发展到三百多人,其中有党的基层干部、有科技工作者、文学爱好者、业余作者等。他们有的是十几岁的学生,有的是年逾花甲的老人。各人根据所好,自定集报范围和类型。集报行家、贵州贵定县的石天柱、江苏无锡市的潘传荣等,所收集的报纸均在二千种以上。目前,杭州、无锡、徐州、内蒙等地的集报爱好者已先后在当地建立了集报协会和集报兴趣小组,杭州市集报协会还不定期的编印资料,在报友中进行交流。
