韶山,相传舜帝巡视江南,途经此地,见山色锦绣,树木葱笼,流水潺潺,鸟韵嘤嘤,顿觉赏心悦目,“遂命奏韶乐,引凤来仪,百鸟和鸣”。韶山由此得名。 毛泽东诞辰一百周年前夕,记者再次来到这里采访,只见青山绿水间一座座饭店酒楼错落有致,一个个市场摊点生意兴隆,金融经济不断发展。1992年,全市社会总产值达3亿元,工农业总产值达2.3亿元,农民纯收入达925元,分别比1978年增长了7倍、8倍和9倍。1993年又有新的突破。韶山,正以新的姿态,在市场经济中脱颖而出。
