日照市规划设计研究院成立于1995年,前身为日照市住建委规划设计室和市政设计院,现隶属于日照市住房和城乡规划建设委员会。具有城市规划编制甲级,建筑行业(建筑)设计甲级,市政公用行业(道路、桥梁、给水、排水)专业设计乙级,风景园林工程设计乙级等资质,是日照市最大的综合性设计研究机构。研究院内设有规划设计一所、二所,建筑设计一所、二所,城市设计所、市政景观设计所等生产部门和综合科、总工办、生产经营部等职能部门。现有职工100余人,大学本科以上学历人员占全院职工93%以上,硕士以上学位近20人。具备中、高级专业技术职称的60余人,其中教授级 Rizhao City Planning Design and Research Institute was established in 1995, formerly known as Rizhao City Housing Construction Planning and Design Studio and Municipal Design Institute, now under the Rizhao City Housing and Urban Planning Committee.
