西非豪萨人的婚姻直到男方向女方送了聘礼,才能得到合法的承认。聘礼的最少金额,在以前是四分之一“第纳流斯”(denarius),但现在是五、六先令。聘礼的最高数额没有限制。所付聘礼数,依男方的贫富程度而定,或者依新娘的父亲或“瓦里伊”(被选出来安排姑娘婚事的一位近亲)的要求而定。未婚夫妇要答应如下几个条件才被允许结婚:1.双方同意结婚;2.丈夫承认有赡养妻子的义务;3.丈夫同意供给妻子住房和衣物;4.必须征得“瓦里伊”的同意;5.必须有婚姻见证人。
Hausa West African marriage until the man sent the dowry to the woman in order to be legally recognized. The minimum amount of dowry, in the past is a quarter “denarius” (denarius), but now it is five or six shillings. There is no limit on the maximum amount of bride price. The number of gifts paid depends on the man’s degree of wealth, or on the request of the bride’s father or “Varui”, a close relative who was chosen to arrange a girl’s marriage. Unmarried couples have to agree to the following conditions before being allowed to get married: 1. The two sides agree to get married; 2. The husband acknowledges the obligation to support his wife; 3. The husband agrees to provide his wife’s house and clothing; 4. Must obtain “ ”Consent; 5 must have a marriage witness.
