新疆地质学会于一九八五年十月二十日至廿八日在乌鲁木齐市召开了第一次构造地质学术讨论会.出席会议的有来自区内地质、有色、石油、煤炭、建材、水利、地震、核工业、院校等部门生产、科研和教学单位以及西北大学、西安地质学院的代表、特邀代表共70人.会议收到论文33篇,在会上宣读了25篇.近年来,新疆广大地质工作者在新疆地质构造各方面进行了大量地质调查与研究.特别是新疆地矿局完成了西昆仑和喀喇昆仑地区1/100万地质调查,填补了我区地质调查空白区;石油局在塔里木、
The Xinjiang Geological Society held the first symposium on geological tectonics in Urumqi from October 20 to August 28, 2005.
