At the 100th Gold Conference in Johannesburg, Mr. Green mentioned in his report the gold output of the Soviet Union and China and its marketing strategy. The gold output and sales volume of the Soviet Union are second only to South Africa but much larger than that of Australia, Canada and the United States, where gold production has developed rapidly in recent years. In the mid-nineteenth century, the Soviet Union was the number one gold producer, with output accounting for 60% of the world’s total output and 1914 annual output of about 60 tons / year.
