所谓成人高等教育,指对已经从事工作和生产劳动,具有高中毕业文化程度的干部、职工、农民、教师等进行高等教育,对已经具有大专以上学历的人员进行知识补充和更新的继续教育。 一、成人教育与普通教育的关系 成人教育与普通教育的不同,最根本的就在于它的教育对象。普通教育对象是儿童和青少年,他们的身份是学生,它为国家培养劳动后备力量,为四化建设培养接班人;而成人教育对象是已经构成生产力因素的成年人,他们的社会身份是由职工和其所从事职业中的地位决定的,是在普通教育的基础上对成年人所进行的再教育,它所培养的是四化建设的当班人。成人教育既要完成本来应该由普通教育完成而未能完成的任务,又要完成普通学校所无法完成的任务。它们之间紧密联系,互相配合,彼此衔接,互为补充,都是我国社会主义教育事业不可缺少的重要组成部分。
