Continuous wave radar echoes from many aircraft were analyzed to determine the amplitude fluctuation characteristics and the variation range between different aircraft. We find that the echo statistics from the four targets (two jets and two piston aircraft) are quite similar; the echo power is typically distributed exponentially with an associated time of about 0.05 seconds. Export the family of probability distribution functions and show how amplitude statistics are affected by integration.
