In recent years, some dramatic critics seem reluctant to mention realism, and some playwrights seem ashamed to talk about realism. In the madness of trendy modernism, realism appears to be a conservative, outdated and obsolete thing. I think this is an unwarranted misunderstanding or illusion. It is both a misunderstanding of realism and an illusion of modernism. Just as people talk about modernism, they should confidently talk about realism. If we are not entangled in the definition of books and we are not prejudiced, we should see that an immense wave of realism has ushered in again. It is in this wave of resurgence that we see realism deepening, In the expansion, in the evolution, it has its own characteristics. As a result, it offers the possibility and conditions for reexamining the trend of drama creation in the new era.
