1953年,中国科学院组织出国考察团,由著名科学家钱三強仼团长,科学院副院长张稼夫带队。团员有华罗庚、张钰哲、赵九章、彭少逸、钱保功、冯德培、朱洗、贝时璋、沈其震、吴征镒、马溶之、张文佑、武衡、梁思成、吕叔湘、刘大年等。途中闲暇无事,少不得谈古论今。这时华罗庚纵观大家,灵机一动,出一上联,求对下联。联曰:“三强韩赵魏”。
