2006年1月20日．中国长城工业总公司与中国卫星通信集团公司在北京签署了用长征三号乙火箭发射中星6B卫星的发射服务合同。这是双方继去年11 月签署中星9号发射服务合同之后的又一次重要合作。中国长城工业总公司作为发射服务总承包商,将会同中国航天科技集团公司所属中国运载火箭技术研究院以及中国卫星发射测控系统部承担中星6B的发射任务。预计该卫星将于2007年在西昌卫星发射中心发射升空．并将定点于东经115．5度。
January 20, 2006 China Great Wall Industrial Corporation and China Satellite Communications Corporation signed a launch service contract for the launch of the BST 6B satellite with the Long March III B rocket in Beijing. This is yet another important cooperation between the two sides after signing the launch service contract of No. 9 Star in November last year. China Great Wall Industrial Corporation, as the launching general contractor, will undertake the launch mission of China Star 6B with China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, affiliated to China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, and China Satellite Launch and Control System Department. It is estimated that the satellite will be launched at Xichang Satellite Launch Center in 2007. And will be fixed at 115.5 degrees east longitude.
