In modern medical practice, clinicians use Kampo preparations to broaden the scope of treatment, which is gratifying. However, from the perspective of western medicine, it is not appropriate to use strict standards to test the quality of Kampo medicine. So how should quality management of Kampo preparations be made? This is an important issue. Kampo prescriptions generally use more than two flavors of crude drugs, most of them use 5-6 flavors or more of crude drugs, with a certain proportion of compatibility. Some raw drugs on the market have different quality grades (such as rhubarb, rhubarb, horseshoe rhubarb); sometimes, the names of raw herbs are the same, but different varieties that do not belong to the same botanical classification may also occur due to different origins. Therefore, it is difficult to strictly maintain a certain amount of ingredients by using a crude drug that has been carefully selected and cooked in the same manner.
