In the “Hanguang-22” military exercise held on July 20 last year, the Taiwan armed forces can be described in full swing. All the main battle weaponry has appeared on the same stage. Among them, the Taiwan Navy dispatched more than 50 main battle ships, including nearly 10,000 tons of “Kidd” class guided missile destroyer purchased from the United States, to participate in various operational exercises such as sea defense, air defense, anti-submarine and anti-landing . However, although the exercise scene looks lively, it exposes many deep-seated problems in the personnel, equipment and training of the Taiwan Navy and makes the Taiwan Navy very embarrassed. During the exercise, the new equipment unveiled by the Taiwan Navy, in addition to the “Kidd” class destroyers, has a modernized missile missile ship. This is what the Taiwan Navy calls the “new weapon” one of the “ Jinjiang ”class missile boat “ Xinjiang ”(hull number 606). From the exterior view, the boat has not changed much from the previous one, but the weapons on board and radar electronic equipment are quite different. In the exercise, they successfully carried out anti-ship missile attacks on the sea targets, Verify that the conversion effect of the boat is more ideal. It is reminded that the long-stagnant “Guanghua VI” guided missile fleet of the Taiwan navy has entered the production phase. In addition, the Taiwan military is carrying out the preliminary development of the next generation of new-type missile boats, indicating that the practice of Taiwan’s navy is “major and minor” A great deal of change has taken place and renewed emphasis on such small combat ships as missile boats is expected to play a role in fighting the future “rejection of reunification” with large ships. Although these changes in the Taiwan Navy are not worth mentioning compared with the rapid development of the PLA Navy in recent years, the re-focus by the Taiwan Navy on small-scale warships needs our attention and seriousness.
