作为一种后发植入型现代性,中国现代性始终伴随着一种难以摆脱的困境意识。这种困境意识在“寻根”作家那里表现为一种认同焦虑。面对西方现代文化的大幅渗透,他们试图寻找“传统”作为立身根基,但对“传统”的发现却又必须借助现代性知识的透镜。以民族志的形式回归“本土”“传统”是其显在的叙事鹄的,借助现代艺术手法走向“世界”却是其最终目标。二者之间的悖论,恰是中国现代性困境意识的叙事表征,也是“寻根”作家在现代性语境中构建“文化中国”的难局。
As a kind of post-implantation modernity, China’s modernity is always accompanied by a dilemma that is hard to get rid of. This predicament consciousness manifests itself as a kind of identity anxiety in the “root-seeking” writer. In the face of the substantial infiltration of Western modern culture, they are trying to find the “traditional” as a lens that takes the foundations of “tradition ” but must rely on the knowledge of modernity. In the form of ethnographic regression “native ” “tradition ” is its obvious narrative, with the help of modern art to “world ” is its ultimate goal. The paradox between them is exactly the narrative representation of the dilemma awareness of modernity in China and also the difficult task for the “root-seeking” writers to construct “cultural China” in the context of modernity.
