The discussion on the research methods of poetry is not only necessary for summing up the practical experience of poetry writing and exploring the inherent law of the development of poetry, but also indicates the greater development and prosperity of poetry. Speaking of research methods, ancient and modern, I am afraid that no one kind of literary style than poetry research methods more abundant, more spectacular. In China, from the Confucius in the Spring and Autumn Period to the late Qing Dynasty’s Wang Guowei and in foreign countries, from Democritus in ancient Greece to Belinsky in Russia in the 19th century, they all put forward their opinions and propositions on the research methods of poetry.
