西部大开发战略实施以来,全国海关在口岸管理、税收征管、打击走私、通关和保税监管、统计监测等方面作了大量富有成效的工作,有力地推动了西部地区外向型经济的发展。2006年10月18日—19日,海关总署党组在南宁召开了海关支持西部大开发座谈会,进一步明确了海关支持西部大开发的指导思想、基本原则和总体要求,为今后一个时期海关做好支持西部大开发工作指明了方向。
