The mass spectra of ten lanthanide organometallics of Cp2Ln (acac) and CpLn (acac)2 types (Cp = cyclopentadienyl, acac = acetylacetonato, Ln == Ce, Nd, Sm , Gd, Dy, Er) have been studied under electron-impact conditions and the fragmentation patterns are proposed on the basis of linked scan information of meta-stable transition in the first field-free region. It is shown that the disproportionation reaction forming Cp3Ln and Ln(acac)3may take place when these complexes reach a certain evaporation temperature.
