粉末高速钢是七十年代的新型工具材料。用氮气雾化一热等静压法生产粉末高速钢已有十余年历史。除此之外,烧结致密法也是一项业已投入小批量生产的新的制取粉末高速钢的方法。该方法的要点是采用传统的粉末冶金工艺,将水雾化粉末的压坯于接近出现液相的温度下,通过真空烧结获得形状近于成品、相对密度不低于98%的制品。这种工艺的特点是:
